    Chateau Malartic Lagraviere in Graves was tot 1997 eigendom van het Champagnehuis Laurent Perrier, toen het werd gekocht door het Belgische echtpaar Michele en Alfred-Alexandre Bonnie. Het echtpaar koos ervoor om samen te werken met de bekende wijnadviseur Michel Rolland om de kwaliteit van de wijnen van het kasteel te verbeteren en naar een nieuw niveau van excellentie te tillen.

    Dit is hun Grand Vin die meestal bestaat uit 50% Cabernet Sauvignon en 25% Merlot en Cabernet Franc. Het fruit wordt gefermenteerd in een combinatie van houten vaten en roestvrijstalen tanks voordat het voor 15 maanden wordt overgebracht naar 50% nieuwe eikenhouten vaten. De klassieke Malartic Lagraviere stijl is elegant en evenwichtig voor hun rode wijnen met een groot potentieel om zich in de kelder gedurende tien jaar of langer prachtig te ontwikkelen.

    De neus barst van de aroma's van donker fruit, waaronder cassis, braam en donkere kersen, terwijl de eerste slok een stevige structuur onthult, dichte tannines en een goed ontwikkelde structuur die deze wijn goed zal doen verouderen. De afdronk is lang en complex, met hints van kruiden en toast van het eikenhout die zich mengen met weelderige bessentonen.
