Een onvergetelijke verjaardag met DAOU & Colomé Het vieren van mijn moeders verjaardag werd nog specialer dankzij twee ongelooflijke wijnen - DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 en Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. De ster van de avond was ongetwijfeld de DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. Vanaf de eerste slok werden we omarmd door een rijke, fluweelzachte smaak. De diepe aroma's van donker fruit, hints van cacao en perfect gebalanceerd eikenhout zorgden ervoor dat elk glas aanvoelde als een ware verwennerij. Hij was gedurfd en toch elegant, een wijn die moeiteloos warmte en vreugde bracht aan onze bijeenkomst. Toen ik mijn moeder elke slok met een glimlach zag proeven, was het des te gedenkwaardiger. De Colomé Auténtico Malbec leverde ook prachtig, met zijn pure expressie van hooggelegen Malbec. Hij was krachtig, met rijpe bramen, kruiden en een zachte, aanhoudende afdronk - een uitstekende aanvulling op de avond. Deze wijnen versterkten niet alleen onze maaltijd; ze werden een deel van de viering, waardoor elke toast en elk gesprek een hoogtepunt werd. Hartelijk dank aan DAOU en Colomé voor het onvergetelijk maken van deze speciale gelegenheid!

    A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

    Drink hem nu of bewaar hem tot 10 jaar. Het wordt aanbevolen om de wijn een half uur te decanteren.

    Gelegen in Bulgarije, bij het dorp Chervenakovo in de Sredna Gora heuvels, heeft Angel's Estate ongeveer 100 hectare wijngaarden die voornamelijk beplant zijn met rode druiven, met wijnstokken van ongeveer 15 jaar oud. Het bedrijf heeft een traditionele benadering van wijnmaken en het meeste werk, in de wijngaard en in de kelder, wordt handmatig gedaan.

    De Young Stallion is een van de paradepaardjes van het bedrijf en wordt gemaakt van een blend van Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc en Syrah. De druiven worden handmatig geselecteerd en geoogst in de wijngaarden van het bedrijf die gelegen zijn op zandige kleigrond, wat bijzonder gunstig is voor de productie van rode wijnen. Na de vinificatie rust de afgewerkte wijn 8 maanden in Franse eikenhouten vaten met tweede passage.

    De wijn onthult een briljante en heldere kleur met donkerrode tinten. Het aromaprofiel is complex en breed met intense tonen van rood en donker fruit, zoals bosbessen, kersen, aalbessen en wat kruidige tonen. In de mond is hij rond en vol met fluweelzachte tannines en een goed uitgebalanceerde zuurgraad. Hij heeft een goede structuur en een warme en lange afdronk. Het is de ideale wijn bij gegrild vlees en gepeperde filetlapjes.
