Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Spaanse wijnen

    Spanje is de op een na grootste wijnproducent ter wereld en maakt alles van fruitige, betaalbare wijnen voor de massa tot verfijnde wijnen die tientallen jaren kunnen ouderen. Men denkt dat de Feniciërs ongeveer 3000 jaar geleden begonnen met de productie van wijn en dat de Romeinen die vervolgens over het Iberisch schiereiland verspreidden. Tegenwoordig zijn er 138 herkenbare Spaanse wijngebieden.

    De belangrijkste Spaanse wijngebieden

    Spanje is vooral bekend om zijn rode wijnen uit de rivaliserende gebieden Rioja en Ribera del Duero. Deze uitgestrekte en diverse wijnnatie heeft ook vele andere regio's die het ontdekken waard zijn. Goede voorbeelden zijn Priorat in Catalonië, Jumilla in het zuiden en Toro, allemaal bekend om hun krachtige rode wijnen. Tot de beste witte wijngebieden van Spanje behoren Rueda en Rias Baixas in Galicië. Spanje's iconische mousserende wijn, Cava, wordt grotendeels geproduceerd in de Penedes regio van Catalonië, terwijl de zuidelijke stad Jerez de la Frontera bekend staat om zijn versterkte sherry.

    Spaanse druivenrassen

    Spanje's beroemdste, en waarschijnlijk beste, rode wijn is Tempranillo, die in het hele land staat aangeplant, vooral in Rioja en Ribera del Duero. Andere belangrijke rode wijnsoorten zijn Garnacha, Carinena en Monastrell. Witte wijnen worden voornamelijk gemaakt van lokale druiven zoals Verdejo, Albarino en Godello. Spaanse wijnen zijn zeer gastronomisch en passen goed bij vlees, oude kazen zoals Manchego en verse zeevruchten van de Spaanse kust.
