    Gesteld in het dorp Solicchiata op de noordoostelijke hellingen van de Etna, is Pietradolce opgericht in 2005 en gespecialiseerd in wijnen van topkwaliteit, gemaakt van lokale rassen die voornamelijk als struiken zijn aangeplant. Ze kiezen voor een holistische aanpak bij het wijnmaken, waarbij ze zowel traditionele methoden als de nieuwste technologie en expertise gebruiken om het authentieke karakter van dit unieke vulkanische terroir vast te leggen.

    Gemaakt van 100% Nerello Mascalese is hun Etna Rosso een geweldige introductie tot de elegante rode wijnen van de regio. De wijnstokken zijn aangeplant op 800 meter hoogte op zandgrond en de druiven worden gevinifieerd in roestvrijstalen tanks en eikenhouten vaten. De jonge wijn wordt vervolgens drie maanden kort gerijpt op eikenhout om hem te polijsten voordat hij klaar is om gebotteld te worden.

    In de neus zijn er levendige rode fruittonen en meer hartige hints van gedroogde kruiden en subtiele specerijen. De eerste slok onthult een heldere zuurgraad, een gemiddelde body en soepele tannines, aangevuld met rijpe rode kersen en bessen smaken die blijven hangen op de tong. Het dynamische en verfrissende smaakprofiel maakt dit een geweldige partner voor gerechten op basis van tomaten, zoals pasta met een rijke ragu-saus of jagerskip.
