    Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Le Guaite di Noemi is een klein familiebedrijf gelegen in het hoogste deel van de Mezzane di Sotto heuvels, 500 meter boven zeeniveau, tussen het Lessini gebergte en het Gardameer. Het wijnhuis werd opgericht in 1997 toen Stefano Pizzighella besloot om zich te wijden aan wijn, naast de reeds gestarte productie van olie. Het hele landgoed strekt zich uit over 10 hectare wijngaarden; sinds 2016 is Stefano's dochter Noemi, die in 2010 bij het bedrijf kwam, begonnen met haar label, Le Guaite di Noemi, met druiven afkomstig van een cru van ongeveer 3 hectare.

    De wijn is een blend van de lokale Corvina, Rondinella en Corvinone druiven met kleine toevoegingen van Oseleta en Croatina. Na het drogen van de druiven gedurende ongeveer een maand en gisting bij een gecontroleerde temperatuur met geselecteerde gisten, rijpt de afgewerkte wijn ongeveer 36 maanden in Frans eiken en daarna nog eens 24 maanden in de fles.

    De Valpolicella Superiore van Le Guaite di Noemi heeft een intense robijnrode kleur met wat granaatkleurige reflecties. Het aromaprofiel is rijp met tonen van bosbessen, aalbessen, kersen en pruimen, gevolgd door hints van mediterrane kruiden en viooltjes. In de mond is hij zacht en heeft hij een goede smaakconcentratie. De zuurgraad is goed in balans en de tannines zijn zijdezacht. De afdronk is lang. Het is de ideale wijn bij pasta met saus, rosbief en rijke wintersoepen.
