    Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Het Scriani wijnhuis is een familiebedrijf van de Cottini's en ligt in Fumane in de wijnstreek Valpolicella Classico. De wijngaarden strekken zich uit over ongeveer 28 hectare land, op een hoogte variërend van 250 tot 400 meter boven zeeniveau, met wijnstokken die tussen de negen en vijftig jaar oud zijn.

    De wijn wordt gemaakt van een klassieke blend van lokale druiven (Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Molinara, Oseleta) afkomstig van de bedrijfswijngaarden Mandolari, Bosco, Tondin, Ronchiel en La Costa. De oogst is handmatig en de wijn wordt verkregen met de traditionele Ripasso methode die bestaat uit het vergisten van de druiven op de Amarone pulp om het meer structuur en aroma's te geven. De afgewerkte wijn rijpt dan ongeveer 20 maanden in eikenhouten vaten en rust dan nog eens 6 maanden in de fles, voordat hij op de markt wordt gebracht.

    De Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore van wijnhuis Scriani heeft een diep robijnrode kleur. Het aromatische profiel onthult intense tonen van donker fruit, zoals pruimen, zwarte kersen en cassis, en tonen van kreupelhout. In de mond is hij rijk, complex en robuust. De afdronk is lang en herinnert aan fruitige tonen. Uitstekend bij gebraden vlees of pasta geserveerd met wildragout.
