Een onvergetelijke verjaardag met DAOU & Colomé Het vieren van mijn moeders verjaardag werd nog specialer dankzij twee ongelooflijke wijnen - DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 en Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. De ster van de avond was ongetwijfeld de DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. Vanaf de eerste slok werden we omarmd door een rijke, fluweelzachte smaak. De diepe aroma's van donker fruit, hints van cacao en perfect gebalanceerd eikenhout zorgden ervoor dat elk glas aanvoelde als een ware verwennerij. Hij was gedurfd en toch elegant, een wijn die moeiteloos warmte en vreugde bracht aan onze bijeenkomst. Toen ik mijn moeder elke slok met een glimlach zag proeven, was het des te gedenkwaardiger. De Colomé Auténtico Malbec leverde ook prachtig, met zijn pure expressie van hooggelegen Malbec. Hij was krachtig, met rijpe bramen, kruiden en een zachte, aanhoudende afdronk - een uitstekende aanvulling op de avond. Deze wijnen versterkten niet alleen onze maaltijd; ze werden een deel van de viering, waardoor elke toast en elk gesprek een hoogtepunt werd. Hartelijk dank aan DAOU en Colomé voor het onvergetelijk maken van deze speciale gelegenheid!

    A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

    Gesticht in Irpinia, in de Zuid-Italiaanse regio Campanië, in 1995, strekt het Guido Marsella wijnhuis zich uit over ongeveer 25 hectare land, waarvan 8 wijngaarden. Hier genieten de Fiano, Greco en Falanghina druiven van zeer bijzondere pedoklimatologische omstandigheden dankzij de hoge ligging (ongeveer 800 meter boven zeeniveau), de briesjes die beschermen tegen de vorming van schimmelziekten, en klei-leembodems, rijk aan mineralen en zeer poreus, waardoor ze veel water kunnen vasthouden.

    De wijn wordt geproduceerd met Greco di Tufo druiven die met de hand zijn geselecteerd en geoogst van wijngaarden van ongeveer 25 jaar oud, gelegen op kleiachtige en tufsteenachtige bodems. Na de vinificatie rijpt de wijn een paar maanden in staal om de pure expressie van deze druif te garanderen. Greco di Tufo Poggio Reali is een wijn met een intense en briljante strogele kleur. De neus onthult typische aroma's van rijp steenfruit, mediterrane kruiden en wat minerale tonen. In de mond is hij fris en mager, hartig en met een duidelijke zuurgraad. De afdronk is aanhoudend en doet denken aan minerale tonen. Het is ideaal als aperitief en bij vis en past ook heel goed bij sommige vegetarische recepten en verse kazen.
