    Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Het wijnhuis Giovanni Corino is een familiebedrijf in het hart van de Piemontese Langhe, meer bepaald in La Morra. Hier produceert Giuliano Corino, geholpen door zijn vrouw Stefania en hun twee kinderen, wijnen van hoge kwaliteit op basis van lokale druiven, met volledig respect voor het grondgebied.

    Deze elegante Barolo wordt geproduceerd met 100% Nebbiolo druiven van de Arborina wijngaard, blootgesteld aan het zuidoosten en gelegen in de gemeente La Morra op kleiachtige grond met zandkorrels. Na de oogst macereren de druiven ongeveer 5-7 dagen op de schillen. Na de vinificatie rust de wijn 24 maanden in Franse eiken vaten (35% nieuw), daarna 6 maanden in staal en tot slot nog een jaar in de fles.

    De wijn heeft een intense kleur met robijnrode tonen en wat granaatnuances. De neus is krachtig en geurig, met aroma's van rijp rood fruit, braam en zwarte kers, tonen van viooltjes, specerijen, vanille, geroosterde koffie en lichte balsamico toetsen. In de mond is hij elegant en harmonieus, levendig en fris. De tannines zijn stevig maar rijp en goed geïntegreerd. Hij is vol en aanhoudend met een duidelijke minerale ader en een evenwichtige zuurgraad. De afdronk is lang en doet denken aan kruidige en balsamico tonen. Het is een wijn met veel persoonlijkheid en komt het best tot zijn recht in combinatie met wild en gestoofd rood vlees.
