    Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Een van de mooiste Primitivo di Manduria wijnen uit Salento, Es wordt gemaakt in strikt beperkte hoeveelheden. In de wijngaard wordt het gebruik van chemische herbiciden en pesticiden vermeden, samen met droge landbouw om de smaken en aroma's in de druiven te concentreren. De druiven mogen voor de oogst een beetje drogen aan de wijnstok om extra complexiteit en rijkdom toe te voegen en ze worden dan met de hand geoogst.

    Eenmaal in de wijnmakerij worden de druiven gefermenteerd in roestvrijstalen tanks en vervolgens 9 maanden gerijpt in nieuwe en gebruikte Franse eikenhouten vaten voordat ze worden gebotteld. Na nog eens 9 maanden rijping op de fles wordt de wijn klaar geacht voor vrijgave. Opulente aroma's bepalen de neus met intense bramen, cassis en donkere pruimen, terwijl de eerste slok een royale volle body onthult, soepele tannines en een zeer lange afdronk met hints van sigarendooskruiden.

    Deze volle rode wijn is de iconische wijn van Gianfranco Fino die in 2004 begon met zijn zoektocht naar de perfecte wijngaardlocatie in Puglia. Omdat hij de wijnbouwtradities en het erfgoed van de regio wilde behouden, kocht hij een uitstekend perceel van 2 hectare met 50 jaar oude Primitivo wijnstokken en begon hij wijnen te maken die de ware zonovergoten essentie van het platteland van Sava en Manduria weergeven.
