Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Dit klassieke voorbeeld van Wilyabrup Cabernet is gemaakt van topkwaliteit fruit geteeld op noordelijke hellingen op het Fraser Gallop Estate. Dit zorgt ervoor dat de druiven een optimale rijpheid bereiken, terwijl de goed drainerende kiezel- en kleibodems en het gematigde zeeklimaat zorgen voor evenwicht en balans door frisheid en aroma's te behouden. De wijngaarden worden droog bewerkt met krachtige snoei om de opbrengsten strikt te beperken.

    Eenmaal in de wijnmakerij worden de druiven gefermenteerd in roestvrijstalen tanks en de jonge wijn rijpt 15 maanden in gebruikte Franse eiken vaten. Als de rijpingsperiode is voltooid wordt de wijn gebotteld en vrijgegeven. Het resultaat is een intense maar toegankelijke Cabernet die barst van de geplette wilde bessen, donkere kersen en hints van eucalyptus en gedroogde kruiden. De gemoedelijke aard van deze wijn maakt hem een geweldige match met vleeswaren, rijke vleesstoofpotten of zelfs aardse wildgerechten.

    Het Fraser Gallop Estate, opgericht in 1999, heeft ongeveer 50 hectare wijngaarden op zachte hellingen op slechts 6 km van de kust in de noordelijke Wilyabrup regio van Margaret River. Met overeenkomsten met de Medoc in Bordeaux is het landgoed gespecialiseerd in het maken van krachtige maar elegante wijnen die doen denken aan hun Franse neven.
