Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Deze verleidelijke rode wijn opent met betoverende aroma's van geplette pruimen en kersen, gedroogd fruit en hints van viooltjes en doet onmiddellijk denken aan de zonovergoten Spaanse hellingen waar hij vandaan komt. Vernoemd naar het plaatselijke woord voor "moed", is Brao het soort wijn dat zowel de ziel als het lichaam versterkt en voedt met de harmonieuze combinatie van sensueel donker fruit, een zijdezachte textuur en zachte tannines.

    Wijnmaker Albert Jané betrekt de druiven voor Brao zorgvuldig van 30 tot 40 jaar oude wijnstokken in enkele van de beste subregio's van Montsant. Hier dwingen de arme, dorre bodems de wijnstokken om diep te graven naar voedingsstoffen en water, wat bijdraagt aan wijnen met diepe, intense smaken en een adembenemende complexiteit. Om de best mogelijke wijnen van dit moeilijke terrein te maken, verbouwt Albert de druiven met biologische teelt en oogst hij alle Garnacha en Carinena druiven die in deze fles gaan.

    Na de vinificatie van de druivenmost laat Albert de wijn rijpen in nieuwe Franse eiken vaten om toetsen van toast en zoete kruiden toe te voegen. Probeer Brao te serveren bij eendenfilet, een delicaat kwartelgerecht of gegrilde champignons om het aardse, hartige karakter van de wijn te versterken.
