    De oprichter van dit wijnhuis Mauro von Siebenthal bezocht de Aconcagua Vallei voor het eerst in de jaren negentig en besefte al snel dat Chili de plek kon zijn waar hij zijn levenslange droom om wijn te maken kon verwezenlijken. In 2009 liet hij zijn geboorteland Zwitserland achter zich en verhuisde hier permanent naar toe. Hij richtte zijn aandacht op het oprichten en ontwikkelen van zijn eigen wijnmakerij en beplantte het ongerepte land met Bordeaux en andere internationale variëteiten.

    Het terroir hier is ideaal voor het maken van premium wijn, dankzij de lange, hete zomerdagen en de alluviale en graniethoudende bodems. Deze verfijnde Syrah is genoemd naar Don Franscisco de Carabantes, de Dominicaanse broeder die in de 16e eeuw de eerste druivenstokken naar Chili bracht. De druiven voor deze wijn zijn afkomstig van 20 jaar oude wijnstokken en de jonge wijn rijpt 18 maanden in eikenhouten vaten voordat hij wordt gebotteld.

    Succulente tonen van bosbessen en kersen barsten onmiddellijk uit het glas, gevolgd door tonen van viooltjes, rozemarijn en gebakken aarde. In de mond is er een royale volle body, soepele tannines en een lange afdronk met aanhoudende toetsen van kruiden en vanille van de eikenhouten rijping. Ideaal om nog een paar jaar te bewaren of om nu van te genieten bij smaakvolle gerechten als gebarbecuede ribbetjes, lasagne, aubergine parmigiana of stevige stoofschotels.
