Gesteld in de dichtbeboste heuvels van Colli Senesi is Castello di Farnetella gezegend met hooggelegen wijngaarden op zand-, klei- en kalkbodems. De omstandigheden hier zijn perfect voor de productie van uitzonderlijke rode wijnen zoals deze Super Tuscan, die is samengesteld uit Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot en Syrah druiven.

Om de best mogelijke kwaliteit druiven te produceren oogst de familie Poggiali hun fruit met de hand en passen ze biologische en duurzame landbouw toe. Ze zijn ook begonnen enkele biodynamische principes toe te passen en gebruiken alleen hun eigen druiven van het landgoed in hun Chianti en Poggio Granoni wijnen.

De Poggio Granoni is het vlaggenschip van het landgoed en is goed gestructureerd met veel zijdezachte tannines en intense tonen van donkere pruimen, kersen, bramen en hints van gedroogde mediterrane kruiden en leer. In de wijnmakerij rijpt de jonge wijn 12 maanden in eikenhouten vaten en daarna nog eens 10 maanden in de fles voordat hij klaar wordt geacht voor vrijgave. Dit is een krachtige wijn die ideaal is om nu te drinken bij wild, rood vlees of stevige pastagerechten, maar hij zal ook goed presteren als hij de komende vijf tot zes jaar in de kelder wordt bewaard.
