Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Aalto is een spannend jong project, opgericht in Ribera del Duero door Mariano Garcia, de beroemde wijnmaker van Bodegas Vega Sicilia, en Javier Zaccagnini, een gerenommeerd expert op het gebied van wijnmanagement. Het duo kwam samen met een gezamenlijke visie om uitstekende wijnen te maken van de plaatselijke Tinta Fina of Tempranillo druif en de schoonheid van het terroir in deze markante Spaanse streek vast te leggen.

    In totaal beschikt het wijnhuis over 32 hectare wijngaarden die zorgvuldig zijn herbeplant met oude Tinta Fina klonen die zijn gekozen vanwege hun kwaliteit en intensiteit van smaak. De ultramoderne wijnmakerij van Aalto is gedeeltelijk ondergronds om vatenkamers te creëren die op natuurlijke wijze op optimale temperatuur worden gehouden voor het rijpen van hun wijnen.

    Aalto is hun tweede wijn die wordt gemaakt van 40-80 jaar oude wijnstokken die in zeven verschillende dorpen in de provincie Burgos zijn aangeplant, samen met wat fruit van Aalto's eigen jongere wijngaarden. De wijn rijpt 16 maanden in Frans en Amerikaans eikenhout om de stevige tannines te verzachten en de cuvee extra glans en complexiteit te geven. Dit is een donkere en knappe Tinta Fina die barst van de rijpe kersen, cassis, kruiden en koffiebonen, die in de mond overgaan in wilde bessen, pure chocolade en leer.
