    Het bekroonde Thaya wijnhuis ligt in de Zuid-Moravische regio van Tsjechië, in de buurt van het natuurpark Podyjí, in het dorpje Havraníky. Het bedrijf, dat 105 hectare aan wijngaarden bezit, produceert 5 verschillende lijnen wijnen, voornamelijk op basis van Riesling, Pinot Blanc en Grigio, Sauvignon, maar ook Frankovka en Svatovavřinec, Pinot Noir en Chardonnay. De wijngaarden genieten van pedoklimatologische omstandigheden die bijzonder gunstig zijn voor de productie van kwaliteitswijnen met zonnige dagen en koele nachten en bodems van kleiachtige kalksteen met löss. De moderne kelder, ontworpen door architect Jakub Cigler, wordt geleid door de jonge wijnmaker Jakub Smrčky.

    De Pinot Blanc druiven worden geselecteerd en geoogst in de U Chlupa wijngaard. De gisting vindt plaats in grote 400-liter vaten waar de wijn ook rijpt.

    De Pinot Blanc U Chlupa van het Thaya wijnhuis is een elegante wijn met veel karakter. In het glas onthult hij een gouden, heldere en briljante kleur. In de neus is het aromatische profiel geurig en fruitig met tonen van gouden appel en rijpe peer, en delicate hints van honing en versgebakken brood. In de mond is hij fris en goed gestructureerd, met een evenwichtige zuurgraad en een lichte minerale adering. De afdronk is aanhoudend en sappig. Het is een fantastisch aperitief en uitstekend met verse kazen en kip Caesar Salade.
