Een onvergetelijke verjaardag met DAOU & Colomé Het vieren van mijn moeders verjaardag werd nog specialer dankzij twee ongelooflijke wijnen - DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 en Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. De ster van de avond was ongetwijfeld de DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. Vanaf de eerste slok werden we omarmd door een rijke, fluweelzachte smaak. De diepe aroma's van donker fruit, hints van cacao en perfect gebalanceerd eikenhout zorgden ervoor dat elk glas aanvoelde als een ware verwennerij. Hij was gedurfd en toch elegant, een wijn die moeiteloos warmte en vreugde bracht aan onze bijeenkomst. Toen ik mijn moeder elke slok met een glimlach zag proeven, was het des te gedenkwaardiger. De Colomé Auténtico Malbec leverde ook prachtig, met zijn pure expressie van hooggelegen Malbec. Hij was krachtig, met rijpe bramen, kruiden en een zachte, aanhoudende afdronk - een uitstekende aanvulling op de avond. Deze wijnen versterkten niet alleen onze maaltijd; ze werden een deel van de viering, waardoor elke toast en elk gesprek een hoogtepunt werd. Hartelijk dank aan DAOU en Colomé voor het onvergetelijk maken van deze speciale gelegenheid!

    A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

    Zodra je een glas van deze delicate Nieuw-Zeelandse Sauvignon Blanc inschenkt, word je getroffen door de verleidelijke bleke strokleur en de opwekkende aroma's van citroenschil, passievrucht en grapefruit. De eerste slok onthult een heldere zuurgraad, een elegante lichte textuur en levendige smaken van citrus, perzik en meloen die op de tong blijven hangen. De etherische structuur en levendige frisheid maken dit een ideale partner voor salades, gegrilde mediterrane groenten en geurige en pittige Aziatische gerechten zoals pad thai.

    De druiven voor deze klassieke Sauvignon Blanc zijn afkomstig van drie verschillende wijngaardlocaties in Marlborough: de Waihopai wijngaard, de Awatere wijngaard en het Charles Wiffen perceel. Deze locaties zijn zorgvuldig gekozen door het wijnbouwteam van Lawson's omdat ze perfecte omstandigheden bieden voor het verbouwen van uitzonderlijke Sauvignon Blanc-druiven. Het team werkt ook volgens hoge milieunormen en is gecertificeerd door de Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand organisatie om het land in de best mogelijke staat te houden voor de komende generaties.

    Elke wijngaard wordt alleen geoogst bij optimale rijpheid om ervoor te zorgen dat de afgewerkte wijn zo heerlijk mogelijk is. Om de natuurlijke schoonheid van de druiven te versterken, wordt een klein deel vergist met wilde opbrengsten, wat extra complexiteit toevoegt aan de uiteindelijke blend.
