Huge range of any type of wine and good prices and quick service!

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now

Donald Hess was in de jaren zeventig op zakenreis naar Napa Valley toen hij voor het eerst de schoonheid van bergwijnen ontdekte. De wijnliefhebber en kunstliefhebber begon uitgebreid onderzoek in de subregio Mount Veeder om de perfecte plek te vinden voor zijn eigen wijnmakerij. In 1978 had hij hier 900 hectare gekocht en begon hij te bouwen aan wat nu een van Napa's meest innovatieve en baanbrekende bergwijnhuizen is.

Centraal in de filosofie van Hess is het unieke bergterroir dat helpt om evenwichtige maar krachtige rode en witte wijnen te maken. Deze klassieke Cabernet is een goed voorbeeld van hun huisstijl, met fruit dat uitsluitend afkomstig is van hun ruige Mount Veeder Hills wijngaard die op steile hellingen ligt op 200 tot 350 meter boven zeeniveau.

Hess voegt een kleine hoeveelheid Malbec toe aan de cuvee, die naar eigen zeggen werkt als een "leeuwentemmer" om de pittige tannines van de Cabernet te verzachten en weelderige donkere fruitsmaken toe te voegen. De jonge wijn rijpt 22 maanden in nieuwe Franse eiken vaten om de verschillende componenten volledig te integreren en nog meer complexiteit te bereiken. Deze robuuste rode wijn barst van de weelderige tonen van cassis, bramen en rijpe pruimen en is een geweldige wijn om nog een paar jaar te bewaren of om nu van te genieten naast stevige rode vleesgerechten.
