    Kevin Judd werkte meer dan 25 jaar bij het legendarische wijnhuis Cloudy Bay, waar hij hielp hen op de kaart te zetten als dé referentie voor Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Greywacke is zijn persoonlijke wijnlabel dat hij genoemd heeft naar het kenmerkende grijze sedimentgesteente dat de plaatselijke bodem kenmerkt. Kevin maakt zijn Greywacke wijnen in Dog Point Winery met fruit van topkwaliteit dat hij persoonlijk selecteert van topwijngaarden in de hele Marlborough regio, met behulp van zijn brede netwerk van partnertelers.

    Voor deze cuvee haalt Kevin fruit uit de Wairau Plains en Southern Valleys van Marlborough. De druiven worden deels met de hand en deels machinaal geoogst, waarna het fruit licht wordt geperst en overgebracht in neutrale eikenhouten vaten. De most laat men zes maanden gisten met wilde gisten, gevolgd door nog eens zes maanden rijping op de droesem.

    Het resultaat is een complexe en intense witte wijn met indrukwekkende lagen aroma's en smaken, variërend van zandkoekjes, amandelen en vanilletonen tot bloedsinaasappel, gerookte thee en dragon. In de mond is er een rijke romige textuur, een gemiddelde body en rijpe smaken van steenfruit die zorgvuldig in evenwicht worden gehouden door een levendige frisheid en een zuivere, schone afdronk.
