Een onvergetelijke verjaardag met DAOU & Colomé Het vieren van mijn moeders verjaardag werd nog specialer dankzij twee ongelooflijke wijnen - DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 en Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. De ster van de avond was ongetwijfeld de DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. Vanaf de eerste slok werden we omarmd door een rijke, fluweelzachte smaak. De diepe aroma's van donker fruit, hints van cacao en perfect gebalanceerd eikenhout zorgden ervoor dat elk glas aanvoelde als een ware verwennerij. Hij was gedurfd en toch elegant, een wijn die moeiteloos warmte en vreugde bracht aan onze bijeenkomst. Toen ik mijn moeder elke slok met een glimlach zag proeven, was het des te gedenkwaardiger. De Colomé Auténtico Malbec leverde ook prachtig, met zijn pure expressie van hooggelegen Malbec. Hij was krachtig, met rijpe bramen, kruiden en een zachte, aanhoudende afdronk - een uitstekende aanvulling op de avond. Deze wijnen versterkten niet alleen onze maaltijd; ze werden een deel van de viering, waardoor elke toast en elk gesprek een hoogtepunt werd. Hartelijk dank aan DAOU en Colomé voor het onvergetelijk maken van deze speciale gelegenheid!

    A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

    Ontstaan in de jaren 1930 door Riccardo Ceretto speelde deze gerespecteerde producent een sleutelrol in de moderne wijnbouwgeschiedenis van Piemonte. Riccardo's zonen Bruno en Marcello liepen voorop in de trend naar op het landgoed gebottelde wijnen van één wijngaard, waardoor Ceretto's jarenlange reputatie van uitzonderlijke Barolo's gevestigd werd. Het landgoed is nu uitgegroeid tot ongeveer 160 hectare en wordt gerund door de derde generatie, vertegenwoordigd door Lisa, Roberto, Alessandro en Federico.

    Naast hun rode wijnen van wereldklasse produceert Ceretto ook andere Piemontese klassiekers zoals deze knapperige en verfrissende Langhe Arneis witte wijn. Het opvallende etiket met de kenmerkende B voor Blange is het werk van de bekende ontwerper Silvio Coppola. De wijn wordt gemaakt van biologisch geteelde druiven uit Vezza d'Alba en Castellinado, en het fruit wordt gefermenteerd in roestvrijstalen tanks om veel aroma's en natuurlijke zuren te behouden.

    In de neus stralen heldere citrus, appel en peer, de eerste slok onthult een watertandend zuurtje, een lichte body en een droge afdronk met aanhoudende tonen van citroenschil. Een fantastische wijn om te serveren als aperitief dankzij zijn frisheid en balans, of als partner voor sushi, zeevruchten, gegrilde vis of romige risotto's en pastagerechten.
