    Het wijnhuis Capensis, sinds 2014 eigendom van de familie Jackson, dankt zijn naam aan de Latijnse vertaling van de definitie "van de Kaap". Dit is een van de belangrijkste Chardonnay producenten in heel Zuid-Afrika, en de wijngaarden strekken zich uit over bijna 20 hectare op de graniet- en arenaceeënbodems van de beste locaties in de Stellenbosch, Overberg en Robertson regio's.

    Chardonnay Capensis wordt geproduceerd in het West-Kaapse wijngebied van Zuid-Afrika. De druiven geselecteerd door wijnmaker Graham Weerts en door Rosa Kruger, een wereldberoemde wijngaarddirecteur, komen van de beste wijngaarden die de West-Kaap te bieden heeft voor deze druivensoort. De Capensis Chardonnay rijpt tien maanden in Frans eikenhout.

    Deze wijn is geurig en fris en vertoont een elegant aromatisch profiel met geuren van citrus, tropisch fruit en vanille, gecombineerd met florale tonen. De citroenaroma's komen terug in de mond en worden prachtig in balans gehouden door een mooie zuurgraad en een lichte zilte noot. De rijke textuur geeft hem een uitzonderlijk mondgevoel en maakt hem een uitstekende partner bij voorgerechten met zeevruchten, maar ook vis of gevogelte geserveerd met witte sauzen. De afdronk is lang en aanhoudend.
