    Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    De heuvels rond de berg Pangeon worden al duizenden jaren vereerd om hun wijnen, dankzij de Feniciërs die hier een speciale druivensoort introduceerden vanuit hun thuishaven Byblos. In 1998 kwamen de getalenteerde wijnmakers Vangelis Gerovassiliou en Vassilis Tsaktsarlis hierheen en vonden de perfecte plek voor een modern wijnhuis om deze eeuwenoude erfenis voort te zetten. Vandaag hebben ze ongeveer 65 hectare biologisch bewerkte wijngaarden met Griekse en internationale variëteiten.

    Deze ongewone rode wijn is gemaakt van een oude niet-geïdentificeerde variëteit die in Pangeon is gevonden en die volgens DNA-tests verschilt van alle andere druivensoorten. Het wijnhuis past traditionele wijnbereidingstechnieken toe om deze wijn te maken en laat de afgewerkte wijn 12 maanden rijpen in eikenhouten vaten.

    Deze heerlijke rode wijn is ideaal voor nieuwsgierige wijnliefhebbers die een andere druivensoort aan hun bucketlist willen toevoegen. Hij opent met delicate tonen van rozenblaadjes, frambozen en veenbessen. In de mond verdiepen deze fruitige tonen zich tot hints van pruimen en wilde bessen, samen met tonen van gedroogde mediterrane kruiden en zoete donkere chocolade. Een geweldige wijn om nog een paar jaar te bewaren of om nu van te genieten bij geroosterd vlees, rijpe kazen en rijke stoofschotels.
