Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Gelegen in Slowakije, in het dorp Devín, is Zlatý Roh een jong wijnhuis dat in 2014 met zijn activiteiten begon, met het gereedmaken van het land en het planten van de nieuwe wijngaarden. Vandaag de dag produceert het bedrijf biologische wijnen met het gebruik van inheemse gisten onder leiding van de oenoloog Filip Nagy. De wijngaarden liggen niet ver van het noorden van Burgenland (Oostenrijk) en genieten van zeer gunstige bodem- en klimaatomstandigheden, mede dankzij de uitstekende ligging en de nabijheid van de Donau.

    De druiven worden met de hand geselecteerd en geoogst. De vinificatie vindt plaats volgens een bedrijfsfilosofie die voorziet in minimale ingrepen om de volledige expressie van het ras en het terroir van herkomst mogelijk te maken. De most blijft 12 uur in contact met de schil, waardoor een zeer licht spoor van tannine achterblijft. De afgewerkte wijn wordt ongeklaard en ongefilterd gebotteld.

    Deze heerlijke Riesling heeft een gouden kleur en een aanzienlijke viscositeit. Het aromaprofiel is intens en complex met tonen van abrikoos, ananas en citrusschil, gevolgd door hints van honing en witte peper. In de mond toont hij de typische verkwikkende zuurgraad van Riesling. Hij is fruitig en fris met een lange en expressieve afdronk. Perfect bij pittige Aziatische gerechten en schelpdieren.
