Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Venus La Universal is een jong wijndomein, verspreid over 4 hectare wijngaarden en gelegen in de DO Montsant in het Falset district, eigendom van René Barbier en zijn vrouw, de wijnmaker Sara Pérez. Beiden met een schat aan ervaring in de familiebedrijven, richtten in 1999 hun eigen bedrijf op in een gezamenlijk project dat werd gekenmerkt door een sterk respect voor het milieu en een zorgvuldige naleving van het biologische regime.

    Venus La Universal is een rode wijn gemaakt van biologisch geteelde Garnacha en Cariñena druiven afkomstig van 4 percelen met oude wijnstokken op klei- en kalkbodems, in een wijngaard gelegen op de top van een helling met een noordelijke en zuidelijke oriëntatie. Na de handmatige oogst vindt de gisting plaats met inheemse gisten. De afgewerkte wijn rijpt vervolgens in grote houten vaten en foudres gedurende in totaal ongeveer 18 maanden.

    De wijn onthult een heldere en intense kleur met kersenrode tinten en paarse nuances. Het aromaprofiel is breed en geurig met fruitige en kruidige tonen en minerale en lederen hints. In de mond is hij warm en rond, zacht en fruitig. Hij heeft een goede structuur en rijpe en goed geïntegreerde tannines. Het is een evenwichtige, elegante en charmante wijn met een lange en aangenaam fruitige afdronk. Probeer hem eens bij porchetta of varkensstoofpot.
