Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    De beroemde "vliegende wijnmaker" Michel Rolland kwam in 1988 voor het eerst naar Argentinië op uitnodiging van de familie Etchart. Gek op het ongelooflijke terroir in dit deel van Noord-Argentinië, duurde het niet lang voordat Rolland samen met de Etcharts Bodega San Pedro de Yacochuya oprichtte in het hoogstgelegen wijnbouwgebied ter wereld, Cafayate.

    De wijngaarden zijn hier aangeplant op 2000 meter boven zeeniveau, wat fascinerende omstandigheden schept voor het maken van wijn van topkwaliteit. Dankzij het zeer intense zonlicht op deze hoogte en de koele nachttemperaturen bereiken de druiven een optimale rijpheid en ontwikkelen ze ook een grotere intensiteit van smaak, tannine en kleur.

    Rolland's Yacochuya cuvee is voornamelijk gemaakt van Malbec met een vleugje Cabernet Sauvignon, afkomstig van de beste wijngaard op het landgoed met 60 jaar oude wijnstokken. Omdat de dagen in de zomer erg heet kunnen zijn, worden de druiven 's nachts geoogst en gefermenteerd in roestvrijstalen tanks met temperatuurregeling om de versheid te bewaren. De rijping vindt plaats in 70% gebruikte en 30% nieuwe Franse eiken vaten gedurende 12 maanden. Dit zorgt voor een rijke en robuuste rode wijn die barst van de weelderige donkere bessen, hints van gedroogde viooltjes en kruiden uit de sigarenkist op de lange afdronk.
    Toevoegen om te vergelijken
    De wijngaarden zijn hier aangeplant op 2000 meter boven de zeespiegel, wat fascinerende omstandigheden creëert voor het maken van topkwaliteit wijn. Rolland's Yacochuya cuvee is voornamelijk gemaakt van Malbec samen met een vleugje Cabernet Sauvignon afkomstig van de beste wijngaard op het landgoed die beplant is met 60 jaar oude wijnstokken.
