    Alvaro Palacios is terecht een van de beroemdste wijnmakers van Spanje vanwege zijn werk in Priorat en zijn broer Rafael timmert snel aan de weg aan de andere kant van het land in Valdeorras, net ten noorden van de Portugese grens. De steile terrassen en het moeilijke terrein maken het wijnmaken hier tot een echte uitdaging, maar zorgen ook voor zeer lage opbrengsten en krachtige, geconcentreerde wijnen. Rafael bezit momenteel 20 uitstekende percelen, waaronder 100 jaar oude wijnstokken verspreid over de regio.

    Louro do Bolo is samengesteld uit 100% Godello, een druif die in Spanje in opkomst is dankzij de rijke, minerale wijnen uit Valdeorras. Rafaels bottelingen behoren tot de beste van de regio, waaronder deze wijn, die is gemaakt van zijn percelen in de dorpen Chandoiro, Lentellais, Outardepregos en Santa Cruz, op een hoogte van 680 meter.

    Rafael's wijngaarden worden biologisch en biodynamisch bewerkt, en in de wijnmakerij gebruikt hij wilde gisten om de most in Franse eiken vaten te vergisten en laat hij de wijn 5 maanden rijpen op de droesem. Het resultaat is een rijke en romige witte wijn met veel steenfruit en citrus, een soepele textuur en een lange afdronk.
