Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Dit is een van de meest zuidelijke Chardonnay's ter wereld, geoogst van perceel 22 van Otronia's landgoed in de grensstreek van Argentinië. Hij zit boordevol aroma's van perzik, groene appel, peer en aromatische witte bloemen, zoals jasmijn, lelie en kamille. Het is opvallend fris in de neus, wat wordt weerspiegeld door de groene tinten die verschijnen als je het in een glas schenkt.

    Het landgoed Otronia ligt op parallel 45'33, in het hart van Patagonië. De verbluffende reeks wijnen zijn de creatieve output van Juan Pablo Murgia uit Mendoza, een getalenteerde oenoloog met meer dan één trofee op zijn naam. In 2021 werd hij door Tim Atkin in zijn Argentina Special Report gekozen tot Young Winemaker of the Year. Een jaar later werd hij door Patricio Tapia van Descorchados gekozen tot Wijnmaker van het Jaar.

    De Otronia Chardonnay is verbluffend fris en complex in de mond. Het koude, hooggelegen klimaat van Patagonië zorgt voor een gespannen ader van zuurgraad, die het fruitige gehemelte van citroenschil, witte perzik, appel en peer verheft. Terwijl hij in de mond blijft hangen, vind je ook tonen van groene kruiden, gedroogde tijm en kamillethee. De wijn rijpte 18 tot 20 maanden in Franse eiken vaten voordat hij werd gebotteld. Combineer hem eens met geroosterd gevogelte, romige pasta of zachte, prikkelende kaas.
