Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    De Xisto Cru is een mineraal-gedreven rode wijn, met sterke aroma's van rode haagbessen, kruiden, rook en aardse bosgrond. Hij is gemaakt in de Dourovallei in Portugal, van een grote verscheidenheid aan inheemse rode druiven, waaronder Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca en Alicante Bouchet.

    De maker van deze wijn is Luis Seabra, die een bescheiden 8 hectare kweekt verspreid over 3 van de belangrijkste regio's van Portugal: Vinho Verde, Douro en Dao. Hij wordt beschouwd als een sleutelfiguur in de recente wijnrenaissance van het land, door producenten weg te leiden van de traditionele versterkte wijnen en tegelijkertijd een intrigerende eigen stijl te creëren.

    De wijn heeft een donkere robijnrode kleur, met levendige zuren en stevige tannines in de mond. Hij bevat tonen van framboos, zure kers en wilde aardbei die zich mengen met ondertonen van krijt, natte steen en gemalen bladeren. De vruchten zijn afkomstig van twee verschillende percelen, voornamelijk bestaande uit oude wijnstokken, voordat ze werden gefermenteerd in oude portvaten en gerijpt in Frans eiken. Hij heeft het potentieel om nog verder te rijpen in de kelder. Geniet ervan met gezouten kabeljauw, risotto of gerijpte kaas.
