    Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    La Rioja Alta is een van Spanje's meest eerbiedwaardige producenten met een reputatie voor de productie van uitzonderlijke rode Rioja wijnen in traditionele stijl. Het landgoed werd in 1890 opgericht door vijf lokale families, waaronder de Aranas, Ardanzas en de Alberdis, die een bredere markt wilden zoeken voor hun kwaliteitsgerichte wijnen. Het wijnhuis was gevestigd vlak bij het treinstation van Haro, waardoor La Rioja Alta wijnen kon exporteren naar buurland Frankrijk en verder.

    Hun Vina Alberdi Reserva eert een van de oorspronkelijke stichtende families, met 100% Tempranillo druiven afkomstig van 40 jaar oude wijnstokken geplant op kalkrijke kleigronden op 500-600 meter boven zeeniveau. Het terroir helpt bij het creëren van een elegante maar jeugdige rode wijn, die wordt gemaakt volgens traditionele wijnbereidingstechnieken, gevolgd door twee jaar rijping in Amerikaanse eikenhouten vaten die door La Rioja Alta zelf worden gemaakt.

    Vóór het bottelen wordt de wijn vier keer handmatig overgestoken met behulp van kaarslicht om sediment te kunnen verwijderen zonder de smaak van de wijn aan te tasten. Rijke pruimen- en kersentonen komen als eerste uit het glas, gevolgd door diepere ondertonen van gebakken aarde, leer en kruiden van het rijpingsproces. Een fantastische partner voor vleeswaren en rijpe kazen, hoewel hij ook nog een paar jaar in de kelder kan worden bewaard.
