Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    De familie Mendoza is al minstens drie generaties lang wijnmaker, maar pas in 2008 besloten ze een nieuw wijnhuis op te richten in het meest prestigieuze wijngebied van Argentinië. Dit kleine boetiekwijnhuis heeft een bijzonder sterke reputatie op het gebied van duurzame praktijken, waaronder het zoveel mogelijk recyclen of hergebruiken van afval en een geavanceerd irrigatiesysteem dat water bespaart.

    La Mascota's wijnen worden gemaakt van de beste wijngaarden van het landgoed, verspreid over het wijngebied van Mendoza. Deze Malbec wordt gemaakt van handgeselecteerde druiven die groeien in de hooggelegen wijngaarden van de Uco Vallei. Na de vinificatie rijpt de jonge wijn 12 maanden in Franse eiken vaten, wat complexiteit en diepte toevoegt aan zijn toch al rijke smaakprofiel.

    Opvallende tonen van geplette wilde bessen, pruimen en kersen verrukken in de neus, samen met zachte tonen van rook, vanille en geroosterde kruiden. De eerste slok onthult een royale volle body, fluweelzachte tannines en een stevige kern van donker fruit die blijft hangen op de tong. Robuust en krachtig van aard, past deze Malbec uitstekend bij gegrild rood vlees, stevige stoofschotels of een royale vleesplank.
