Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Gelegen in Summonte in het hart van Irpinia, in Campanië, produceert het Guido Marsella wijnhuis sinds 1995 uitstekende wijnen. De wijngaarden, gelegen op een hoogte van ongeveer 800 meter, genieten van bijzonder gunstige omstandigheden voor de teelt van wijnstokken. Het bedrijf strekt zich uit over ongeveer 8 hectare wijngaarden, beplant met de inheemse Fiano, Greco en Falanghina druiven op kleiachtige bodems die een goede waterretentie garanderen.

    De Fiano di Avellino druiven komen van wijngaarden die ongeveer 30 jaar oud zijn, gelegen op 700 meter boven zeeniveau op bodems van rotsachtige klei. De oogst is handmatig en na de vinificatie rust de wijn ongeveer 12 maanden in staal en nog eens 6 maanden in de fles.

    De wijn heeft een intens gele kleur met gouden reflecties. Het aromatische profiel is intens en fris met tonen van perzik, peer en exotisch fruit, gevolgd door aromatische kruiden, blauwe regen en jasmijn, nuances van citrus en wat zilte tonen. In de mond is hij fris en vol, rijk en delicaat citrusachtig. Hij heeft een zeer evenwichtige zuurgraad en een frisse afdronk met lichte zoute en amandelnoten. Hij is perfect bij vis en schaaldieren, maar past ook goed bij wit vlees zoals konijn en gevogelte.
