    Met een familiegeschiedenis van druiventeelt die teruggaat tot 1529 hebben Jean-Jacques en zijn zoon Victor (de huidige wijnmakers van Domaine Jean-Jacques Girard) een schat aan generatiekennis en traditie om uit te putten.

    Dit is te zien en te proeven in hun ongelooflijke reeks Bourgognewijnen, afkomstig van geselecteerde wijngaardpercelen in Savigny-Les-Beaune, Pommard, Volnay en Corton-Charlemagne. Deze 100% Pinot Noir wijn is een perfecte kennismaking met het vakmanschap van Domaine Jean-Jacques Girard, en een uitstekende, gemakkelijk te drinken rode Bourgogne.

    Het is een prachtig kersenrood in het glas, barstensvol gelaagde geuren van pruimen, frambozen en donkerrode kersen. Deze wijn heeft een klassieke Pinot Noir funkiness, vergelijkbaar met een boerenerf of een aardse bosgrond. Het gehemelte is even wrang als zijdeachtig en omhult de tong met smaken van rood en zwart fruit, met subtiele hints van cassis, kruiden, paddenstoelen en leer. Hoewel hij de bredere naam "Bourgogne" draagt, doet deze wijn denken aan Savigny, waar Domaine Jean-Jacques Girard zijn thuisbasis heeft. Het is een fantastische kennismaking met het wijnhuis voordat je je gaat verdiepen in de Premier Crus. Overweeg hem te combineren met gebarbecued vlees, gevogelte of traditionele Bourgondische gerechten, zoals ham met peterselie.
