Een onvergetelijke verjaardag met DAOU & Colomé Het vieren van mijn moeders verjaardag werd nog specialer dankzij twee ongelooflijke wijnen - DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 en Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. De ster van de avond was ongetwijfeld de DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. Vanaf de eerste slok werden we omarmd door een rijke, fluweelzachte smaak. De diepe aroma's van donker fruit, hints van cacao en perfect gebalanceerd eikenhout zorgden ervoor dat elk glas aanvoelde als een ware verwennerij. Hij was gedurfd en toch elegant, een wijn die moeiteloos warmte en vreugde bracht aan onze bijeenkomst. Toen ik mijn moeder elke slok met een glimlach zag proeven, was het des te gedenkwaardiger. De Colomé Auténtico Malbec leverde ook prachtig, met zijn pure expressie van hooggelegen Malbec. Hij was krachtig, met rijpe bramen, kruiden en een zachte, aanhoudende afdronk - een uitstekende aanvulling op de avond. Deze wijnen versterkten niet alleen onze maaltijd; ze werden een deel van de viering, waardoor elke toast en elk gesprek een hoogtepunt werd. Hartelijk dank aan DAOU en Colomé voor het onvergetelijk maken van deze speciale gelegenheid!

    A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

    Pluimen van bramen, pruimen, zwarte peper, viooltjes en zoethout komen uit de neus van deze 100% Syrah wijn. Het is een klassiek en gedistingeerd rood uit de Rhônevallei, geoogst van een perceel wijnstokken van 2,5 hectare met een gemiddelde leeftijd van ongeveer 100 jaar. De granieten bodem van het gebied zorgt voor een schone mineraliteit in de mond.

    Domaine Courbis heeft een lange geschiedenis op de rechteroever van de Rhône en is al sinds de 16e eeuw van vader op zoon doorgegeven. De moderne kelder werd ongeveer 20 jaar geleden gebouwd in de zijkant van een van de glooiende heuvels van de Rhône. Tegenwoordig is het eigendom van en wordt het gerund door Laurent en Dominique, twee broers die toezicht houden op het domaine vanaf de samenvloeiing van de rivieren de Isère en de Rhône.

    Voordat de wijn werd gebotteld, rijpte hij 16 maanden op eikenhout. De tannines zijn erg fijn en weelderig en het gehemelte is breed en gul. Let op smaken van donkere haagbessen, eikenhout, tabaksrook, eucalyptus en peper, met een mineraal randje. De Cornas Champelrose is ideaal om te combineren met eend en kalkoen, geroosterde kastanjes of harde, pittige kazen.
