Ingewikkeld bestelproces. In jullie lijst met landen staat Tsjechië niet vermeld. De bestelling is naar Montenegro verzonden. Terwijl ik toch ‘CR’ in het veld had ingevuld. ?!

Ik vind de beoordelingen van wijnen erg handig; ze helpen enorm bij het kiezen van een wijn! Bij mijn laatste aankoop van meer dan 400 euro raakte ik in de war door de wijn- en verzendkosten in mijn winkelmandje: de wijnprijs werd zonder btw weergegeven, maar er stonden wel verzendkosten bij die niet nul waren, zoals beloofd. Bij het afrekenen leek het ineens anders: er waren geen verzendkosten, maar wel btw. Een beetje misleidend.

Cantina Vinicola Luca, een Moldavisch wijnhuis met een bewogen geschiedenis, produceert de Carpe Diem wijnen. De familie Luca maakt al vier generaties lang wijn, maar in 1949 werd het bedrijf onteigend en werden de familieleden door het Sovjetregime gedeporteerd naar Siberië. De wijnmakerij werd hersteld, gerestaureerd en heropend in 2011 en bezit nu meer dan 10 hectare wijngaarden.

Carpe Diem Breaking Red is een blend van Feteasca Neagră, Cabernet Sauvignon en Merlot druiven, met de hand geplukt van geselecteerde wijngaarden. Na de vinificatie rijpt de afgewerkte wijn een jaar in Franse eiken vaten. Het resultaat is een rijke en elegante wijn waarin de intense fruitige tonen van de Feteasca Neagră zich mengen met de kruidige tonen van de houtrijping, terwijl de Cabernet structuur toevoegt en de Merlot zachtheid.

In het glas onthult de wijn een diepe robijnrode kleur en een breed en complex aromatisch profiel met toetsen van aalbes en kers, braam en kleine rode bessen op een kruidige achtergrond met hints van chocolade. In de mond is hij rond, zacht en soepel, met een goede body en een aangename fruitconcentratie. De afdronk is lang en harmonieus. Probeer eens bij gegrilde eendenborst, tagliatelle met eekhoorntjesbrood of stoofpot van fazant.
