Geschiedenis

De familie Pichler boert al vijf generaties lang in de Oostenrijkse wijnstreek Wachau, hoewel Franz Xaver pas in 1971 de huidige familiewijnmakerij bouwde. Tegenwoordig is het zijn zoon, Lucas, die de leiding heeft over het maken van hun schitterende, terroir-georiënteerde wijnen volgens traditionele lokale wijnbereidingsmethoden. Ongeveer 70% van hun wijnen heeft het label "Smaragd", een term die alleen wordt toegepast op de topwijnen uit de regio.
