    Geschiedenis

    Erath winery is een van de oudste producenten in Oregon's Dundee Hills dankzij de visionaire wijnmaker Dick Erath die zijn allereerste vat wijn maakte in zijn garage. Dick maakte oorspronkelijk carrière als ingenieur voordat hij aan de UC Davis ging studeren, een beroemde wijnbouwschool in Californië, en in de jaren zestig besloot zijn gezin te verhuizen naar de woeste heuvels van de Chehalem Mountains in Oregon.

    Interesting Facts

    Dick experimenteerde met zo'n 23 verschillende rassen op zijn land voordat hij ontdekte dat Pinot Noir hier goed gedijde. Hij hielp in de jaren zeventig Franse klonen naar Oregon te importeren en in 1984 werd een van zijn wijnen door Wine & Spirits uitgeroepen tot "Beste Amerikaanse Pinot Noir".
