    Het aankoopproces en de productkeuze zijn goed, maar de bezorgservice met UPS is ellendig. Ik zal helaas niet meer kopen vanwege de bezorging door UPS die zich nooit aan datum/tijd houdt en een vals excuus geeft dat ze afwezig zijn terwijl ik er was en een vrije dag heb genomen om er te zijn.

    Deze speelse rode wijn is genoemd naar een brutale elf die volgens de lokale traditie in Abruzzo tussen de vaten in de kelder woont. De druiven zijn afkomstig van Torre dei Beati's beste Montepulciano wijngaarden die op 300 meter hoogte zijn aangeplant op uitstekende klei- en kalkbodems. Eenmaal in de wijnmakerij worden de druiven zorgvuldig gevinifieerd en de jonge wijn wordt vervolgens gerijpt in nieuwe vaten voor maximaal 22 maanden met regelmatige droging of "battonage".

    Dit zorgt voor een donkere en knappe Montepulciano met veel donkere bessentonen en hints van zoethout en winterse kruiden. De eerste slok onthult een robuuste volle body, stevige maar soepele tannines en een lange afdronk met veel donker fruit en florale hints. Een geweldige partner voor stevige rode vleesgerechten, vleeswaren of zelfs een pittige peperoni pizza.

    Het landgoed waar deze heerlijke rode wijn vandaan komt is een boetiekwijnhuis dat door een familie wordt gerund, dicht bij de prachtige bergtop Gran Sasso en op slechts 25 km van de Adriatische Zee. In totaal bewerkt de familie 21 hectare wijngaarden die allemaal biologisch worden verbouwd. Hoewel het wijnhuis pas in 1999 officieel werd opgericht, zijn sommige wijngaarden veel ouder, aangezien oprichter Rocco hier in 1972 voor het eerst wijnstokken begon aan te planten.
