Een onvergetelijke verjaardag met DAOU & Colomé Het vieren van mijn moeders verjaardag werd nog specialer dankzij twee ongelooflijke wijnen - DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 en Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. De ster van de avond was ongetwijfeld de DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. Vanaf de eerste slok werden we omarmd door een rijke, fluweelzachte smaak. De diepe aroma's van donker fruit, hints van cacao en perfect gebalanceerd eikenhout zorgden ervoor dat elk glas aanvoelde als een ware verwennerij. Hij was gedurfd en toch elegant, een wijn die moeiteloos warmte en vreugde bracht aan onze bijeenkomst. Toen ik mijn moeder elke slok met een glimlach zag proeven, was het des te gedenkwaardiger. De Colomé Auténtico Malbec leverde ook prachtig, met zijn pure expressie van hooggelegen Malbec. Hij was krachtig, met rijpe bramen, kruiden en een zachte, aanhoudende afdronk - een uitstekende aanvulling op de avond. Deze wijnen versterkten niet alleen onze maaltijd; ze werden een deel van de viering, waardoor elke toast en elk gesprek een hoogtepunt werd. Hartelijk dank aan DAOU en Colomé voor het onvergetelijk maken van deze speciale gelegenheid!

    De wijngebieden van het Griekse wijnhuis Domaine Costa Lazaridi strekken zich uit over de landschappen van het wijngebied Drama, waar het bedrijf met de hulp van de vliegende oenoloog Michel Rolland uitstekende witte, rode en rosé wijnen produceert van inheemse en internationale druiven.

    Amethystos Cava wordt algemeen beschouwd als een van de beste rode wijnen van Griekenland en werd voor het eerst geproduceerd in 1991. De Cabernet Franc druiven worden geselecteerd uit oude wijnstokken, geplant op rotsachtige kleigrond. De afgewerkte wijn rijpt 18 maanden in nieuwe Franse eiken vaten en ongeveer even lang in de fles alvorens op de markt te worden gebracht.

    Deze Cabernet Franc heeft een donkere en dieprode kleur. De neus onthult een complex profiel van tonen van viooltjes, aalbessen en pruimenjam, gevolgd door aroma's van munt, cederhout en geroosterd brood. In de mond is het een krachtige en vastberaden wijn, maar ook zeer evenwichtig. De tannines zijn stevig maar niet grijpend en geharmoniseerd door een intense concentratie van fruit. Het is een solide wijn met een uitstekend rijpingspotentieel. Probeer hem eens bij entrecote, geroosterd lamsvlees, geitenkaas en ook bij sommige Indiase recepten zoals curry.
