Een onvergetelijke verjaardag met DAOU & Colomé Het vieren van mijn moeders verjaardag werd nog specialer dankzij twee ongelooflijke wijnen - DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 en Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. De ster van de avond was ongetwijfeld de DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. Vanaf de eerste slok werden we omarmd door een rijke, fluweelzachte smaak. De diepe aroma's van donker fruit, hints van cacao en perfect gebalanceerd eikenhout zorgden ervoor dat elk glas aanvoelde als een ware verwennerij. Hij was gedurfd en toch elegant, een wijn die moeiteloos warmte en vreugde bracht aan onze bijeenkomst. Toen ik mijn moeder elke slok met een glimlach zag proeven, was het des te gedenkwaardiger. De Colomé Auténtico Malbec leverde ook prachtig, met zijn pure expressie van hooggelegen Malbec. Hij was krachtig, met rijpe bramen, kruiden en een zachte, aanhoudende afdronk - een uitstekende aanvulling op de avond. Deze wijnen versterkten niet alleen onze maaltijd; ze werden een deel van de viering, waardoor elke toast en elk gesprek een hoogtepunt werd. Hartelijk dank aan DAOU en Colomé voor het onvergetelijk maken van deze speciale gelegenheid!

    A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

    Verspreid over ongeveer 50 hectare wijngaarden is Chateau La Negly een wijnhuis in de Languedoc dat eigendom is van de familie Paux-Rosset, die na de aankoop in 1992 de wijngaarden volledig herontwikkelde. Het bedrijf ligt in het wijngebied La Clape, op een strategische plek op korte afstand van de zee, waar de wijnstokken genieten van uitstekende omstandigheden voor de productie van kwaliteitswijn. Sinds 2006 omvat het landgoed ook het Domaine de Boede, met zijn 25 hectare wijngaarden.

    La Clape La Falaise Rouge is een blend van Syrah, Grenache, Carignan en Mourvèdre, afkomstig van de zuidoostelijke hellingen van het Clape-massief op de typische bodems van het gebied, van zand-kleiïge kalksteen, zeer steenachtig. De oogst is handmatig met een zorgvuldige selectie van de druiven. De Syrah wordt gevinifieerd in houten vaten en rijpt 12 maanden in vaten, terwijl de andere druiven worden gevinifieerd in cementtanks en rijpen in houten vaten.

    De wijn heeft een intense en briljante robijnrode kleur. In de neus onthult hij een geurig aromatisch profiel met tonen van braam en framboos, cacao en zoethout, geroosterde hints en zwarte olijven. In de mond is hij rond en geconcentreerd, krachtig en fluweelachtig met zachte en rijpe tannines en een lange afdronk die doet denken aan tonen van zoethout. Probeer hem eens met rundvleesfilet in eekhoorntjesbroodsaus.
